I am pleased to have this large piece hanging at the Blyth Gallery in Blyth, Ontario for the next three weeks. This Community Show is an exhibition of art from the Huron region. (May 26-June 16). Drop in and see a wide range of media – photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, pottery, fabric and more. It is a very uplifting show.
My piece is called ‘Richly Seeded’ a reflection of our wonderful multicultural community.
The ceramics pods are mounted on a wooden surface approximately 36 x34.
I was so lucky to be able to attend the previous amazing conference this past March in Pittsburg. Over 6500 enthusiastic clay lovers descending on the city and I was one of them. Four great days of exhibits, lectures, tours and of course the incredible trade show. Like everyone else I was like a kid in a candy store. The tool temptations were hard to resist. So yes I treated myself – a bit every day so it would not seem as much. Now here is the incredible part – I have forced myself to keep the tools in their packages until this past weekend as I had a lot of commitments upon my recent return from Arizona to home in Dashwood. But now I am hooked – my new texture tools are so much fun – I can’t stop trying them out as you can see on the handles of these spoons (not fired yet), And you might even be surprised that there are other packages of tools that I have not opened yet – got to get some housework done around here. Sure am thinking about Minnesota already.
Green Art Glass on Glass Mosaics with Glass Etching
Yes it is a lot of preparation to teach workshops at an art conference but I love seeing some of the same people year after year and meeting new people from far and wide who are there to get inspired, try something new and have fun. And we do have fun. My 6 classes this year at Art Waves and Pin it Canada have kept me hopping for sure but I was able to enjoy a short time at the Pin it Canada Trade Show which was bigger and better than ever. Congratulations Audrey and your great team for this success.

where I will be teaching a green art mosaic glass on glass workshop and 5 jewelry classes.
Then I have promised myself and everyone else that I will take some time off to make my own art and smell the flowers as much as possible this summer. I will likely waver but that is the plan.
This is the one hour workshop that I am going to offer on the afternoon of ARTworks May 28, 2016 from 2:30-3:30 at Exeter Christian Reformed Church. These monoprints are created by actually inking a real fish. It is not only fun but also a great way to preserve special fishing memories and triumphs. Information on all the ARTworks classes being offered and details about Empty Bowls will be on http://www.artaroundtown.net. Check it out – ARTworks – right here in our community!
Artaroundtown proudly presents another full day of exciting art opportunities. Chose from a great variety of creative workshops and also enjoy the wonderful Empty Bowls lunch which supports the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Center. Don’t miss this great event –ARTworks – right here in our own community.
See http://www.artaroundtown.net for workshop details, registration and Empty bowls tickets.
Congratulations to the wonderful volunteers who weathered the cold and put their hearts into creating beautiful bowls for the upcoming Empty Bowls event on May 30th at the high school in Exeter. The bowls will be featured at the day long Creative Arts Festival – see below. Lucky customers at the lunch will be enjoying home made soup and also taking home a bowl. Can’t beat that and better still all the proceeds will go to support the local food bank. What a great way to share. Everyone can be an artist.
And it’s fun and inspirational to work in a group.
Thanks so much Gang for being the ‘test’ class. Your energy, enthusiasm and creativity were such a great way to get the ball (bowl) rolling for this special project!
